Great game of hurling - strange to think 8 years later and Dublin haven't since reached a semi-final - and Cork (or Clare) haven't since reached a final. On a sour note I was standing on the hill with my then 13 year-old son, a group of teenage Cork fans were directly behind us (aged about 17/18) - an awful lot of homophobic chanting out of them, especially prior to throw-in - one guy in particular, his mates were calling him Ewan (I'll never forget it, brown hair and a very distinct name, Ewan NOT Evan) actually poured his entire drink over my son's head as my son celebrated Dublin's goal. Whenever one of his pals finished their drink he'd take their bottle/cup and throw it down on top of those who were in front of him. We ended up having to move away. Those lads are probably in their mid 20s at this stage - I for one was delighted Clare won the final after that experience ⚫🔵

Irish coaches are very good about taking sips of stuff to deal with the balmy Irish heat. That goes to show what smart men we are. You won't see coaches from other countries paying attention to hydration like that.

Dublin missed a few easy enough frees after the sending off that prob cost them the game in the end, sending off was harsh but Rush should def have gone with that pull. Really good game and I like the cork players style which is hard to say as a Dublin man, prob between Cork and kilkenny this year but ill take a leinster title tomorrow
